Something Different
I've managed to accomplish something today that I thought was once impossible. I'm no longer limited to only using models from Lithtech 1.0, but I can now import models into Blood 2 from any Monolith game! It's a bit of a complicated procedure, but it does work.
Since Monolith never really finished Blood 2 it only seems right that they should contribute some new models to this game. It would also save me considerable time as well. Any object, character or weapon model from any Monolith game can now be imported into Blood 2 if desired.
Here's Sanjuro from Shogo, a goat from NOLF, and a bathtub from NOLF 2, all together in a recreation of E3M1 from BLOOD. I don't currently have FEAR installed or I would have included something from that game as well.

And just for fun, here's a NOLF helicopter about to crush the goat by landing on top of it.

Many of these models use multiple textures and Blood 2 seems to only be able to use single textures currently. But hopefully I'll figure out a solution to that problem eventually, as these experiments continue...

This is fantastic news, with a hell of a lot of tweaking Blood 2's potential is (nearly) limitless. Great work!
wonderful work. congratulations.
Wow! This will save you a big deal of time! It makes me sing 'happy birthday...' Even if it is not really appropriate, I'm sure it will be at a certain point of the year.
Mate, you are great programmer, I can't even imagine how you did this! That's a great news, maybe you would be so kind and share your techniques to other modders/programmers? Maybe your 'discovery' may lead to others productions based on LithTech!
Good job!
Thanks. Eventually I'll release some tutorials and tools for anyone that may interested. But in the meantime there's still plenty of experimenting that needs to be done...
Outstanding news Kurt! That in itself is a major accomplishment. I will look forward to that tutorial almost as much as the MOD :)
This is certainly a breakthrough kurt!
I still worry about those cache limits.
