Greetings from Hell

 Is anybody out there?

Things sure are quiet in the Blood community lately. Is there even a real Blood community any more? Many people seem to have stopped posting on Blood forums, and Blood websites seem to be vanishing from the internet. Even Jace Hall himself has disappeared from sight, after recently dropping into the Postmortem forum to announce his interest in resurrecting Blood in the future.

As for Resurrection, its certainly changed considerably from the days in which it began. It was a simple Blood 2 mod back then that I had hoped would repair everything I felt was wrong with Blood 2. I had also hoped that my efforts would inspire others, so that there would be growth and prosperity, and that the Blood community would have a positive future. However, little did I know that there would be so many lunatics and deranged individuals in the Blood community that were willing to cause so much destruction. Brainless zombies starved of attention will turn against anyone it seems.

It's been  awhile since I last worked on B2R.  I could fill an entire book on everything that's transpired since I first began this project. But ultimately I lost my motivation and desire after dealing with deranged trolls and imbeciles, and at the present time the demands of my real life are rather time consuming as well. Also the Blood community itself seems to be on life support at the moment, and few people seem to actually care about anything at all. Unfortunately I have no cure for apathy, ignorance, or even lunacy.

I'd still very much like to complete this project one day. But I honestly have no idea what the point is anymore. Perhaps in time I'll return to finish everything, when I'm refreshed and motivated. I suppose that also depends on whether the Blood community even exists anymore in the future. As for the zombies in these images, they still require more work including further alterations, animations, and texture enhancements. Although I do think they  currently look rather fashionable in the fall line of  Zombie trousers. The work is never ending it seems.

But I'd like to take this moment to sincerely give my thanks for your support and interest in B2R.

It was fun once...

Why not release a beta version of the mod on moddb? I think that a lot of people would enjoy trying it out. It might also stimulate the community to contribute to the development. I think there are still a lot of blood fans out there...keep up the good work, I'd really love to see (and play) it!

I really hated the chosen and back in those days I saw B2R as an answer to my prayers. I've been waiting since that day. First, I looked for updates each week... later each month... today, I keep looking to this page when I'm on vacation. But nothing comes. And I also grew old. I left my home and I left my young dreams. From your words, I see that you probably never finish this game. I'm sorry for that... another dead dream for me.

If anyone has anything worthwhile to contribute to this project they can contact me anytime.

To those people that suggest demos and downloads will stimulate the community to contribute, I'm afraid they're wrong. Aside from the screenshots and videos, I once released a playable demo several years ago consisting of numerous changes made to the entire retail game. Every Blood 2 level was re-textured, enemies were replaced, AI was recoded and improved, etc, etc. Few people downloaded it and even fewer people helped afterwards. Instead of receiving any help, I was forced to deal with insane lunatics for the next several years, who were determined to destroy this project and my reputation.

Unfortunately I have less free time now then I used to, and its no longer any fun. I'm hoping that in time things will change and that this project can eventually be completed and released. Until then, I'd like to thank everyone for your support and interest in B2R. Let's all hope for better days ahead...
